As much as I love a classic novel, I am also a sucker for celebrity auto-biographies. Between the gossip, the drama, the honesty and the secrets – what’s not to love?

Call it a guilty pleasure, but let’s be serious, celeb autobiographies are light, quick reads that are perfect after a long day at the office or while you’re bathing in the sun.

A truly great autobiography from a celebrity bares all. Here’s a short list of some of the best one’s I have read to date, with a short description of each. So be sure to add them to your summer reading list :)

Author: Jodi Sweetin
You see a completely different side to this girl and it will shock you. Plus, gossip about the Olsen twins and the rest of the Full House cast is an awesome bonus. In this memoir, Jodie Sweetin, once Danny Tanner’s bubbly daughter on America’s favorite family sitcom, takes readers behind the scenes of Full House and into her terrifying-and uplifting-real-life story of drug addiction and recovery.

Author: Tori Spelling
Tori Spelling uses this book to finally tell her side of the tabloid-worthy life she”s led, and she talks about it all: her decadent childhood birthday parties, her nose job, her fairy-tale wedding to the wrong man, her so-called feud with her mother. From her over-the-top first wedding to finding new love to her much-publicized — and misunderstood — “disinheritance,” this book has it all.

Author: Ellen Degeneres
After a hard day, THIS is the book you want to read if you need to lift your spirits. Ellen’s humor, kidness and overall love for people and life shine through this entire book. I have read this three times and every time I do, I love it more. Just a warning – you will literally laugh out loud, on nearly every page!

Author: Portia de Rossi
Portia de Rossi weighed only 82 pounds when she collapsed on the set of the Hollywood film in which she was playing her first leading role. This book is eye opening to what it’s really like to have an eating disorder and it will give you chills. Amazing read. A crucial book for all those who might sometimes feel at war with themselves or their bodies.

Author: Maureen Mccormick
If you thought Marsha Brady was perfect, you we’re so wrong. Here”s the Story,  will take you behind the scenes of The Brady Bunch and reveal how this actress landed on the dark side, caught up in a fast-paced, drug-fueled, star-studded Hollywood nightmare that led to the biggest battle of her life.
