Well it’s that time of year again – award season. February tends to be a busy awards month, what with the Golden Globes, Grammys and finally the Oscars. Next Sunday, actresses and actors will come out, ready to show off their finest dresses and tuxes. With the race really anyone’s guess, I’ll be spending my time Tweeting about who’s wearing what and how good, bad or ugly they look.

The one to watch is Jennifer Lawrence, who some say is a shoe in to win Best Actress for “Silver Linings Playbook”. In 2011, the actress attended the ceremony in an understated red sleeveless Calvin Klein number that although simple, fit her body perfectly. Now with more movies under her belt, the pressure is on for her to really bring it. At the recent Nominees Luncheon, she was quoted as saying she is going to go for fashion this time, which I think is perfect! As the face of Miss Dior, it is quite possible she could make her entrance in a Christian Dior Couture design, including this fitted textured design from the Spring 2013 collection.

Another one to watch is Amy Adams who typically chooses lighter tones and paler colours to offset her beautiful features. She could easily pull off this Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. And we can’t forget another red head still in the running – Jessica Chastain. Not afraid of colour or being fashion-forward, she is a wild card and it’s anyone’s guess what style or designer she will pick.

Not to leave the guys out in the cold, Best Actor nominee Bradley Cooper can sure make my heart swoon with his rugged good looks. Hugh Jackman who blew everyone out of the water with his performance in Les Mis, will most likely show up in something outside-of-the-box, since he did after all wear a navy blue tuxedo by Louis Vuitton to the Golden Globes.

You can watch all the action Sunday, February 24, and for a little refresher, check out Huffington Post’s review of the “Best and Worst Oscar Dresses of All Time.”
