I own this in bright red, with cream stitching. The perfect bag for everyday use!

My obsession started a couple of years ago, I was walking around my local mall and we made eye contact – it was love at first sight.

It was beautiful, simple, dependable and to be honest a tad pricey; my all time favorite leather accessory that has never, ever left my side since the day I bought it.

Roots is known around the world as Canada’s leading brand and best source of leather handbags that are handcrafted from the finest Italian leather.

These bags are a staple in any woman’s closet – they can be used every day for a casual look, or at night with a dress and stilettos.  And the best part of all? Not everyone has one! I can’t stand the sight of the signature Coach bags that are draped along the shoulder of every single girl.

Roots chooses leather from only the finest Italian tanneries – committed to quality and craftsmanship. Every genuine Roots leather item in Canada is made at a state-of-the-art facility in Toronto, Ontario.

The Olivia – my all time favourite

I strongly believe that “you get what you pay for.” And Roots proves this with their reputation for standing by their products with a fantastic warranty – a lifetime warranty in fact!

Roots offers a life-time warranty on ALL leather items. Broken zipper? Worn-out handle? If you have any problem at all you can take it back to any Roots store and they will fix it.

And my favourite part of all! You can customize any bag you like. Want a different grain of leather? Or different colour hardware? Just go into a local store and they will help you invent your new original item.

Check out Roots online,

I bought a nice small bag from the Roots store in Calgary, Canada last year. I carry it all the time and it is wearing like a cheap pleather or whatever. Friends say I should return it, but I am not sure where to send it or who to contact. Pat Murphy

        Hi Patrcia!
Thank you so much for posting. Sorry to hear about your Roots bag! I do have good news though — as far as I know.. you can bring your bag into any Roots location. They will then send it out and fix it for you. You don’t even need your original receipt! I had to do this recently with my Olivia bag and I didn’t have an issue at all.
Let me know how it goes.

I have been eying up the Roots Olivia bag a lot lately. I’m from norther coastal canada and it rains alot! Will this bag hold up? I would be sooooo eternally grateful if you had any pictures of your Olivia bag?

      Hi Starla,
Honestly – it is the BEST bag I have ever purchased. I bought mine 5 years ago and it still looks brand new. The best part is that the leather gets even better with age, and the grain becomes a lot softer over time. I can email you pictures if you like! And don’t worry about the rain, it wont harm the bag at all.
I also just bought the ‘Lauren Bag’ a couple weeks ago ( – which is a lot bigger than the Olivia, but the size is perfect if you travel a lot – it makes the perfect carry on! I love them both.

      Hi Karla!
This post is a little old now, and at the time of publication yes it was true. To be honest, I am not sure if ROOTS is still doing this. I hope they are, but I am not sure. Thank you so much for checking out the blog! Come visit again soon :)
