Eating healthy (or better yet, my attempt at trying!)

As most of my close friends and family know, I am on a health kick! And no it is not in an attempt to lose weight – it is simply to feel better about myself and to start making some better choices.

What I have basically done is cut out the following: All saturated fats, any type of takeout/fast food (see you later golden arches!) and anything deep fried (ew, gross).

I know I am not a health expert, but these types of things are common sense to cut out of your diet – they have no benefits on your body whatsoever.
The bonus? I feel better, I have a lot more energy, I save a lot of money not eating on the go anymore and the best of all? My skin!
I now have a natural glow and my complexion is a lot better.

So I urge all of you to join me! Ease into this and start slowly, it will be less of a shock to your system, I promise! Personally I am a huge junk-food eater; I crave snackfoods (um, cheescake or potato chips anyone?).

These are some things I recommend:
1. Start reading the labels on the back of everything you eat – look out for MSG, saturated fats and preservatives.

2. Drink green tea! When I first starting drinking this I hated it, but now, I am finally getting used to it. Green tea is a great anti-oxitant with amazing health benefits. Now I drink one-two cups a day. My goal is to eventually cut out coffee…but let’s be serious, that will take a miracle.

3. Cut out as much sugar as possible and replace it with healthy choices. Instead of snacking on peanut M&M’s or sweedish berries (ugh, now I am craving both of these…perfect) try eating vegetables instead. I personally can’t eat them plain, I need flavour. So I pair them with hummus, so good!

4. Exercise (duh…) I personally do cross-fit and I love it. My close girlfriends and I do it as a group, which I highly recommend. I look forward to the classes not just because of the awesome workout but because I get to see the girls! Some of my other friends do yoga or cycle-fit, so pick something you enjoy and believe me it will make a huge difference.

Comment and let me know your bad eating habits and what you want to change!

Hello outstanding website! Does running a blog like this require a large amount of work? I have absolutely no knowledge of computer programming but I had been hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyways, should you have any recommendations or tips for new blog owners please share. I understand this is off topic however I just had to ask. Appreciate it!|
